Day 4 - Jimmy's Music Collection

It's Thursday, and today I went with another theme day. I love the 80s, and I love the strong and successful Female artists of the decade. Today I spun all on the turntable and enjoyed every minute of it.

September 15, 2022

Janet Jackson - Rhythm Nation 1814

I woke up today, and I had Janet in my mind. I am a huge fan of Ms. Jackson, I own everything she has recorded.

The album has the hits! The title track, Escapde (which I talked all the way up to the post at KQIZ - Sorry Ted), Miss You Much, Come Back to Me, and more.

Format: Vinyl - CD

Debbie Gibson - Out of the Blue

I was a Debbie kid, always. She wrote her music, played instruments, and what a voice. I also had a major crush on her (STILL DO).

Hits on this one include the title track Shake You Love, Only In My Dreams and Foolish Beat. I may join AARP just because of Debbie. LOL

Format: Vinyl - CD - Cassette

Shelia E. - The Glamorous Life

Only one big hit on this one, but it was a jam. The title track to this album was a smash. I enjoyed the first track on the album Belle Of St. Mark album.

This was still a solid listen.

Format: Vinyl

Cyndi Lauper - She's So Unusual

This was the 4th album I ever bought. Girls Just Want to Have Fun made any young boy want to have this album.

Other hits include Time After Time, She Bop, and All Through the Night.

Format: Vinyl - CD

Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Somebody

I am so sad that Whitney Houston is not making new awesome music on this planet. The tragic ending to her life can make you forget about the beginning of her career, but I like to remember that.

The second release was packed with hits. That smile on this cover was enough to make you smile.

Format: Vinyl - CD - Cassette

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Love Rock N Roll.

Joan Jett was known for her time with The Runaways (Cherry Bomb). Joan had a fantastic run with the Blackhearts.

We all know the title track, but other hits include Crimson, Clover, and Victim of Circumstance.

Format: Vinyl - CD

Jody Watley - Larger Than Life

Release in 1989 this album took off from the start. Jody Watley has a fantastic voice, and this album was packed with hits.

Real Love is a #2 hit, Everything, Friends.

Format: Vinyl

Tina Turner - Private Dancer

Also known as the comeback album, Private Dancer took the world by storm in 1984.

Hits - The title track, Better Be Good To Me, What's Love Got To Do With It, and a cover of Al Green's Let's Stay Together.

Format: Vinyl - CD

Miami Sound Machine - Primitive Love

The 9th but 2nd English album from the Miami Sound Machine. Gloria Estefan is a once-in-a-lifetime voice. She was captivating when on stage.

Hits: Words Get In The Way, Bad Boy, and we will never forget Conga.

Format: Vinyl - CD

Madonna - Like a Prayer

This is my 2nd favorite Madonna album. This one also had controversy, but I don't care about all of that.

This album is SOLID from start to finish.

Hits: The title track, Express Yourself, Cherish, and more.

Format: Vinyl - CD
